Samsung has released the ST700, PL170 and PL120 DualView cameras. All three cameras are equipped with 5x optical zoom lenses from 26mm equivalent. The 16Mp ST700 offers a 1.8-inch front LCD, which made its debut in seen on the ST600 and ST100 cameras launched last year. The PL170 and PL120, with 16Mp and 14Mp sensors, feature slightly smaller 1.5-inch front LCDs. The cameras will be available in September with retail prices of $279.99, $199.99 dollars or $149.99.

Samsung takes DualView to the next level
The new ST700, PL170 and PL120 models offer all camera users the latest dual-screen innovations, so you can imagine yourself in the perfect moment
CES, Las Vegas – January 5, 2011 –
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, today announced the launch of three new DualView compact cameras. The new ST700, PL170 and PL120 offer a unique combination of high image quality, fun and engaging special features and comprehensive ease of use, which together with Samsung's innovative dual-screen technology results in a first-class compact camera package for easy self-portraits.
The ST700 represents Samsung's ultimate dual-screen innovation. The new camera features a 1.8-inch front LCD screen, the largest ever installed in this type of camera, and offers even more portrait photography possibilities. Self-shots that have become the hallmark of the DualView camera. The impressive front screen is complemented by a new 3.0-inch touchscreen with Smart Access UI on the back of the camera for seamless operability and clear, crisp image presentation. Quality also loses the ST700 doesn't. With a 16.1 megapixel (MP) image sensor and a 26mm 5x optical zoom lens for innovative image capture, the ST700 is the most advanced DualView camera yet, allowing you to capture the perfect moment.
The PL170 and PL120 offer all camera users the added value of dual screen technology, allowing any photographer to step out from behind the lens and shoot themselves in style. In addition to the bright 1.5" front screens that allow you to frame your portrait perfectly , these two models also feature the ST700's Easy Self Shot feature, which allows you to turn on just the front screen for extra privacy.
Samsung first launched the DualView technology innovation in late 2009. Since then, additional models have strengthened Samsung's presence in this space while rapidly expanding the company's overall compact camera market share.

Perfect portraits
DualView cameras were designed for self-portrait photography, and the new models take that to the next level so you can capture the perfect moment. As well as the innovative new Easy Self Shot feature, the ST700 also includes a new Kids Mode to help you capture your create your own animations to keep kids happy and engaged when you want to capture those special family memories. All three models use 26mm lenses for a wider and deeper perspective that's ideal for portraits. The ST700 and PL170 feature 16.1 MP sensors for some of the sharpest images available, the PL120 at 14.2 MP.
Seamlessly easy to use
Also for the new ST700 model, Samsung has leveraged its strength in the smartphone market to develop a new Smart Access User Interface (UI). The touch-based user interface is as fast and intuitive as many smartphones, making ST700 quick and easy for anyone to use and even advanced functions easily with a few keystrokes on the large, clear 3.0-inch widescreen LCD screen. The Smart Access UI allows users to drag, click and control app-style icons, scrolling easily photos and control a range of camera functions.
Fun for the whole family
The three new models also instill a sense of fun that is a big part of the DualView photography experience, making artistic, professional images accessible to even the novice user. All three models come with HD movie recording capability, putting you in control, alongside Capture great videos with your still images. Smart 2.0 filters like Blur, Halftone Dot and Cinema sit alongside more common features like Fisheye, Thumbnail and Sketch in the three new models, making them fun and professional interfaces at the push of a button.
You can also use the newly added Magic Frame feature to instantly create formatted postcards or posters to share with your friends and family. Simply selecting the template available on the camera and then taking your photo, the photo will be automatic displayed on the selected template for the original photo display. In addition, the ST700 and PL170 have an HDMI output function, which allows a seamless connection to your TV, and are also available in four great, stylish colors. With the Magic Frame function, it still was Creating a poster or a fun postcard of you with friends has never been so easy.
Smarter than ever
All three new models also include Samsung's Smart Auto feature, which works for both still and video images. The system analyzes key elements of your shot, such as brightness, color and motion, and automatically adjusts camera settings to achieve the perfect shot. Smart Auto includes 16 different modes for images and four for videos. Users also have the option to control advanced features by selecting manual control.
