baby monitor reviews
Today we tried the extremely stylish Samsung SEW-3030, which is a wireless video baby monitor. It looks great. The parent unit is black, sleek and just so iPod-esque. The camera is understated and looks just as good. The parent unit has a 3.5 inch color LCD screen that displays a bright, high-resolution image. This video baby monitor is equipped with infrared technology and has night vision so you can monitor your baby's movements throughout the night We found the image quality to be really impressive - the color on the visual image was a bit washed out, but the clarity of the black and white infrared image was sharp enough to see Lara squirming and squirming in her bed, from a camera that's about 2 meters away. The wireless video signal is secured so only the parent unit can access the signal. This prevents interference and prevents other people with wireless devices from viewing the baby monitor's images. The wireless signal range is up to 100m and we had no problems using it in the and to use the house. Some of the features offered by the Samsung SEW-3030 are high on our wish list when choosing a baby monitor. We love the ability to play lullabies from ours
existing baby monitor to be invaluable in Lara's settling in - the Samsung wireless monitor's parent unit allows you to turn on music remotely, but we found the music to be a bit jarring and grating (and not overly soothing). The other feature, What we like is the 'talkback' feature, which allows you to whisper reassuring words to your little one if they stir (or, like me, laugh at your partner if you're watching them on the monitor and can see that they're failing miserably at putting your child to sleep). One feature we were disappointed with was the room temperature monitor - it kept telling us it was dangerously hot in the room so we had to turn off the alarm. Merely for one or two flickering ones Seconds, the temperature matched that displayed by our normal nursery thermometer(s). In general, we found the monitor's sound quality to be poor. It's definitely more focused on pictures than sound. We found it quick and easy to set up and charge, but difficult to use overnight. We like to leave our baby monitor on all night so it can wakes us up when Lara starts to grumble - we just couldn't find a combination of settings on the SEW-3030 that worked for us, either we had to sleep with it
The light from the screen shone into our bedroom, or we used the standby setting, which we had to configure really hard to wake up the device when it heard Lara stir. Because of this, we didn't replace our existing monitor with the Samsung video monitor replaced, but use both side by side. The Samsung wireless baby monitor is easy to integrate into your PC or TV using plug-and-play technology. For tech-savvy users, you can use the included software to integrate with video chat applications so that when you're not at home (e.g. if you or your partner has to work from home), your child. If you receive this, you can even configure Skype to automatically answer an incoming call from a specific number with the Samsung surveillance system !
